Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life through her vivid and expansive imagination. She was writing songs before she learned to write or read. Once she had her first guitar at the age of 8, she began performing on local radio stations from Knoxville, Tennessee. In the same time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Although she was studying, she established a name for herself within the local arena. Her goal was to to play on a greater size. She moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. The first charting record she had with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton took the offer in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo hits such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton recorded "I Will Always Love You" in support of Wagoner just after the pair split. The song hit No. Its first appearance at the top spot was in 1974.
